When the pipe broke through the ceiling above, the sunlight must have blinded these rare Albino Goo Balls. They didn't seem to notice when it began to snow. Maybe they would wake up if they had something to jump onto.

Albino Goo is a species of Goo in the video game World of Goo and World of Goo 2. Their purpose is simple: connect to other Goo Balls with their four legs. Despite the two additional legs when compared to Common Goo, Albino Goo remains very simple in purpose. Also, unlike Common Goo, once attached, they don't adjust the length of their legs to the extent of Common Goo, allowing to build more tight or loose structures. They cannot be set on fire by fire or lava.

Uses[]

Albino Goo are improved versions of Common Goo, though they lack Ivy Goo's detachability. Because of the amount of legs this Goo can connect with and the fact that their length isn't adjusted much after construction, it is very good for building stable structures upwards. Due to a larger amount of possible legs, structures it makes are heavier, as referenced in The Red Carpet. This can be a help, though it is most often a hindrance. In the level Incineration Destination, they are used to prevent the player's entire bridge from burning away using their nonflammability.

In the sequel of World of Goo, they also can't be killed by lava, allowing the player to build structures in lava.

Variations[]

  • In certain levels of World of Goo 2, such as River of Fire and especially Hot Slinky Returns: Slinkin' Ain't Easy, Albino Goo cannot be picked up, instead serving as a lava-proof version of Product Goo. As it turns out, this was done by the developers in an attempt to cover up a massive exploit regarding burning Goo liquid. If you were to pick up an Albino Goo ball and drop one into the burning Goo liquid, the flames from the liquid would be put out immediately! This exploit can actually be indirectly performed on the second Slinky level thanks to the presence of Ivy Goo.
